Formula Drift was in town for round one of the 2012 Formula Drift Championship season. The location for round one was set on the beautiful and scenic coastal strip of Long Beach Ca.
With only a few hours of sleep (due to excitement) I loaded my gear into my truck and headed down to the LBC. With a short 45 minute drive I promptly arrived at the Slammed Society/Hellaflush car show area at 06:00. Boy was I surprised. There was already a grip of cars all lined up, owners meticulously cleaning and waxing for that car show shine.
Slammed Society/Hellaflush car shows seem to bring out a wide variety of cars. Most rides in attendance were the well built/polished type but some in attendance were leaning toward what I would consider JDM rat style (beat up body & paint). To each his own!!
For the actual Formula Drift racing I spent most of my time in a shady spot watching the big screen. Man it was hot!! The only place were you could see all three corners was the TV and that was fine for me.. It was a sold out event, which means the grand stands were super packed, plus they offered little shade. I opted for shade.

XXR may be a inexpensive Chinese wheel but they look tight in my opinion. I don't know why so many people hate on XXR wheels. They look good (not all) and they're cheap. Whats so bad with that?
The Low n Slow Crew was on deck looking tight. I heard a lot of people jocking this G35.

Ran into "Mad Mike". Nothing mad about him. Dude was super cool. He's glad to be done with the whole TV thing. Mike's still over at gas doing what he loves to do, building real cars. Not that whack pimp my ride crap.
